what would jesus brew?

Many people have asked me where they can get the T-shirt I wear with the easy-going metrosexual image of Jesus with the line “What would Jesus Brew?”  Well the wait is over.   You can get them here…

They are great conversation starters and the proceeds go to supporting some great friends in their mission to Third Places.

    If only I was still a member of an SBC congregation. This shirt would easily cause an emergency deacons meeting, a congregational meeting and possibly a vote to dis-fellowship…oh the fun.

    Great shirt. For the record, I believe that Jesus would probably brew a diverse array of tasty beers. But he’d start by brewing a Scotch Ale or a Porter.

    Jimm C, you can say that he would brew up a coffee. The fact that it might be off the backs of the poor coffee matter in Africa won’t matter at that point. Coffee is an acceptable drug.

    Just made me think about the different ways we portray Jesus to our culture…. You know like the enviromentalist Jesus, the green messiah, ‘the way, the inconvient truth and the life’. There’s a lot of good conversation starters.

    Come on Al… Jesus would ONLY brew Fair Trade coffee.

    But seriously… as I read the NT, wine was his brew of choice… he could whip it up in an instant if the situation required it.

    I don’t mean to pour gasoline on a tiny flame, but the Southern Baptists,Free Will Baptists & Plymouth Brethren of my childhood would be lost on the mental gymnastics of your comment. A few would say that the poverty of the coffee regions is a curse which originated with the sons of Noah who saw him naked.
    Some of them would say if they would turn to Jesus they would have peace,joy and prosperity. VERY few would even admit Jesus consumed alcohol and you do know beer WILL send you straight to hell;-0
