Don, I’ll have to second your WOW!!

And all the folks on the fire or fire? thread who are talking about the counter-cultural nature of suffering need to come here to be reminded.

Thanks, Alan…how many will take Mike’s challenge to heart? Will embrace the “I’m afraid” and follow it with a quivering “Amen”?

Proximity, Presence, Powerlessness, Proclamation, Purple…(hey, just going with the flow of the theme 8) )

Good stuff as always. Liked the bit about marinading our souls in the gospels! Warmest blessings from chilly Cornwall, beginning to light up for Christmas!

This was really good! It’s amazing to me how when we see something as defenseless the threat is now gone and that thing becomes approachable.
Is that maybe where Frost is saying the danger and power is at?

Most of my life I’ve always wanted to be bigger, taller, so I could protect and defend myself. The church does this same thing. While my appearance has not changed my spirit has and I tend to do things in a new way. It’s an exciting concept with many possibilities.

This has touched me so much. I winced when he mention The Salvation Army (my own denom) but I totally agreed at the same time. I think about how we tick so many of the boxes he was talking about regarding mission, or our lack of understanding about it.

    Powerful stuff

Staggeringly powerful preach. Like Craig, I’m a Salvationist, so some bits were hard to hear, but Michael hit the spot.
