  1. What a great gift this guy has to break it down for “church” folks! As a former full time minister, I struggle with the score card. We have been doing Simpole church for about two years now and we have not really “reached” anyone per se. No conversions is what I am saying I guess. This bothers me. But then again, it wasnt happening in the IC context I was in either. But it was so much easier to score better in the IC. The score card had a lot of stuff on it.

I tell you this though, Reggie provoked me to pray and bless people. Thanks for this video.

  2. I love listening to McNeal.

A couple of points that are especially applicable include his point that we “look at the Kingdom through church eyes” and that we need to scrap our “evangelism strategies” for “blessing strategies.” What a difference we would make if the whole church was driven to bless people. That is great stuff.

Alan, hope to see you next week in New Orleans at Rick’s church.

  3. Alan, this was fantastic! Loved listening to McNeal - my first time and thoroughly enjoyable. Made me feel somewhat better about the journey myself and my family are on…. Shalom!

  4. BTW you may already know this, but there is a second video that McNeal did during this same conference as well, I put a link up a couple of weeks for it if anyone is interested. You can also download the audio if that works better.

  5. Alan,

Thanks for the video…the most productive 45 mins I have had in a while.

  6. Reggie,
My wife, Wanda, and I thoroughly enjoyed both your sermon this AM and your seminar this afternoon at The heights Baptist Church in richardson, TX. I think you are right on target in championing the move from Internal to External Focus with the Christian church in today’s society. Our ABF (read Sunday School) department met after your seminar and made tentative plans to scope the neighborhood to see where the need is greatest. There are some bright, energetic Senior citizens in our deparment who will do the scoping and report back to the leadership group. We just hope the end result is not to form a “committee oncommittees” to sit back and talk about the issues when we need to be out working them!

We live withing walkikng distance of an elementary school that undoubtedly has needs for readers, counselors, etc., so we plan to try to engage the principal or a Vice Principal there this week to see what we can get going ASAP.

Blessings - and keep up the great work you’re doing for the cause of Christ!!!
