The story goes that Constantine’s soldiers were baptized with a forearm and a sword sticking out of the water. I can’t help thinking what Jesus might say to do to that arm.

I’ve often referred to the unbaptized wallet, because the Christians’ use of money in the rich world seems to be so different from what it ought to be. Then again, I wonder what parts of me missed out.

Kinda reminds me of a little dance/drama/skit I did once about “giving all” to God… a kid at sunday school makes a serious prayer after taking up the offering of coins from fellow sunday-schoolers about how BIG and strong and smart God is, offers it all up to God by throwing the entire amount up into the air. Whatever stays up, God can keep; whatever comes down can be shared with friends… Okay, I’ve done it more than once!

hehe, it’s funny because it’s the truth. It’s sad because it’s the truth.

You know, if this was a baptism by sprinkling or “hosing,” then the whole person would get wet. Top down water flow kind of thing…hahaha…just a thought. :)

Relates directly to Matthew 6:19Open Link in New Window and on. Great cartoon, have been speaking on this passage at our gathering, will have to show it to everyone this week.

Money on a different saving plan. Or is it an advert for cash converters?

The version I heard had several different denominational pastors/leaders handed a million dollars and asked to throw it into the coffin of the rich man who died. Two did so, but the evangelist/fundraiser gave the man a check…

When Sam Houston was baptized - the preacher realized his wallet was still in his pocket - he told him he should pull it out. Houston replied, “No sir, I reakon it needs baptizin too.” This is a real story from a real texan.

This related very directly to the justice message we experience in worship last Sunday.

Great cartoon - sad commentary on the state of many believers.

Wonder how many minsters have kept their wallets out of the baptismal waters…

Perhaps this cartoon may be a reason why my denomination chooses to baptize three times forward. Its hard to keep the hand up high three times….

    Good cartoon, needed the laugh.
